Holding Absence // Audio (Glasgow) : 5 March 2018

Image
On the 2nd of March Holding Absence and Loathe were meant to be playing Audio in Glasgow. However due to the bad weather that had been going about the United Kingdom at the time the show had to get postponed to the 5th of March. However, this did not stop both bands from coming to Glasgow, Scotland and giving the audience an amazing show as well as the local support from Divide  and Rainfalls.  Rainfalls a four piece melodic-hardcore band hailing from Glasgow, Scotland was first to set foot on the stage. This band had a great sound to them which managed to get the crowd nicely ready for the artists who were ahead of them, as well as putting on a good show themselves. However, with the vocalist's back to the crowd throughout most of the set and with the stage rather dark throughout with only flashing lights it did make the stage hard to look at, at times. This is a band which does have a lot of talent however and would fit perfectly on a hardcore show. The other local band for

Hybrid Theory// Opium (Edinburgh) : 16 February 2018

Working closely with Exile Promotions in Edinburgh lately we got asked to come along to help out and review their charity show with Hybrid Theory  a Linkin Park tribute band and Freak Show  from Edinburgh to raise some money for the charity Sane a mental health charity within the United Kingdom.  First to come to the stage was Freak Show , a five piece hard rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland. With a large crowd having came down to the show to show their support they thanked the crowd for coming down and making it their biggest show to date! As well as this they mentioned how their vocalist really wasn't well. However, this did not stop them from putting on a good show, however I do feel impacted the show as it seemed that the vocalist didn't have loads of energy on the stage however vocally sounded really good and showed that she was a powerful vocalist. As a new band however this came over very professionally and are a band that does have a lot of potential to grow wi

While She Sleeps // 02 ABC (Glasgow) : 8 February 2018

While She Sleeps returned to Glasgow since their album release of "You Are We" to play the 02 ABC alongside Counterfeit. and Blood Youth on the 8th of February 2018. As a result I decided to go along to the show and share my views on all three bands that played. The first band to perform was Blood Youth , a four piece, hardcore punk band from Harrogate, England. With loads of energy right from the very beginning of their set this was a band I was excited about and one which also excited the crowd by having a lot of people singing along to their music as well as crowd-surfing. This made Blood Youth  an amazing opening act for the show and one that got the crowd excited for what was coming next. It was nice to also see that they did thank the security as well for looking after everyone, which did show how humble a band they are. This is definitely a band to keep your eyes on in 2018 especially within the United Kingdom. Counterfeit. was next to embrace the stage; a  five

Carcer City // Opium (Edinburgh) : 27 January 2018

As well as doing larger shows, we are happy to get the chance to get to review smaller and more local shows. As a result of this we teamed up with Exile Promotions  from Edinburgh to review a local metal show at Opium in Edinburgh. The line-up consisted of Carcer City , Sworn Amongst , The Weight Of Atlas and House of Hatchets . This is what we thought of all of the artists who performed and the night overall. The first band to the stage was House Of Hatchets  a four piece alt metal band from Edinburgh, Scotland. This was a band who had a lot of energy on stage and although people didn't know their songs did not let this stop them from having a really fun time on stage. This was made better by very clear vocals throughout their set making the audience able to hear everything that they were saying very clearly as well as smooth transitions from the beginning of their set till the very end. Playing songs from their EP "The Grind" as well as a new single coming from thei

Black Veil Brides // 02 Academy (Glasgow) : 25 January 2018

As Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria do an American and European co-headline tour, I managed to catch them in Glasgow, Scotland with support from To The Rats and Wolves on the 25th of January 2018. As a result of this I decided to review the show and say my thoughts on all three bands and the set that they produced. The first band on the bill was To The Rats and Wolves  which the audience did not know of. This made for an amazing opening act who managed to get the crowd jumping around and having an amazing time and joining in with the band singing along, clapping and dancing by having a very party atmosphere about them. With great clean and unclean vocals it was easy to make out what the band was singing about and made the audience know more about the band as a whole. As the first time they have ever been in the United Kingdom, I feel this band is one that will have a large following when they come back and are a band you do not want to miss live!! Asking Alexandria was nex

Hollywood Undead // 02 Academy (Glasgow): 24 January 2018

Image
Hollywood Undead came back to the United Kingdom this month with their own headline tour with support from The One Hundred  from London, England. We managed to see them in Glasgow on the first night of the tour (24th January 2018) and are happy to share our thoughts on the show. The One Hundred  as the only support act for the show was first to go on the stage, with many people not knowing who they were it was difficult to warm up the crowd. However, this did not stop them from having fun on stage and dancing about and seeming to be in their own bubble. With the crowd not sure what to make of them they continued by playing songs from their new album as well as some of their older music. It was difficult to really know what to think of their set as they played fast jumpy songs then slow songs every once in a while making the set sort of jumpy instead of as smooth as it could have been. However, this was a great opening act which is a band that we should all be keeping an eye on. N

Escape the Fate// Garage (Glasgow): 20 January 2018

Image
On the 20th of January Escape The Fate came back to Glasgow, Scotland on their headline tour with support from Set To Stun and Shields to play at the Garage thanks to Triple G Music. Here is what we thought of all of the bands who performed. First to grace the stage was Shields , a metal band from London, England. With being the first band on and not many people in the room at the moment they did not let this effect their live performance at all. Playing all originals that not many of the audience knew they had enough energy and a good flow between all of the songs that they were performing that people were still engaged with the performance. With also thanking everyone who came down early to catch their set and exciting the crowd about the other bands coming on after them they are a very humble band which is a very pleasing thing to see on the stage. As the end of their set came you could hear the people in the audience saying that they liked Shields and were a band they had to
