Escape the Fate// Garage (Glasgow): 20 January 2018

On the 20th of January Escape The Fate came back to Glasgow, Scotland on their headline tour with support from Set To Stun and Shields to play at the Garage thanks to Triple G Music. Here is what we thought of all of the bands who performed.

First to grace the stage was Shields, a metal band from London, England. With being the first band on and not many people in the room at the moment they did not let this effect their live performance at all. Playing all originals that not many of the audience knew they had enough energy and a good flow between all of the songs that they were performing that people were still engaged with the performance. With also thanking everyone who came down early to catch their set and exciting the crowd about the other bands coming on after them they are a very humble band which is a very pleasing thing to see on the stage. As the end of their set came you could hear the people in the audience saying that they liked Shields and were a band they had to check out. An amazing opening act that we are looking forward to seeing more from in the future.

Second was a band that none of the audience had heard of before called Set To Stun, a three piece post-hardcore band from California, America. With their first time in the United Kingdom they left an impact with the crowd. With a lot of energy especially from the unclean vocalist and guitarist who was climbing up onto the balcony, running around the stage, coming into the crowd, being underneath the stage and doing headstands and more while performing it was hard to look away. Unfortunately however it was difficult to hear the vocals clearly so left the audience not completely sure what the lyrics were which was completely out of their control. I think this band have a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing what happens next for them.

Finally, was the band that everyone was there to see Escape The Fate a post-hardcore band from Las Vegas, America. With not as much energy around the stage as the others before them this did not stop a great set from the band and a very clean set. With playing both old and new songs that they have released Escape the Fate managed to give a set in which old and new fans could both enjoy and join in singing and dancing along to. As well as this they done a cover of My Chemical Romance's single "Dead!" which surprised the audience but went down well with everyone in the audience. With their guitarist Thrasher also breaking a guitar string the room went quiet for a moment before Craig (vocalist) started to sing acapella to entertain the crowd before continuing on with their set showing professionalism from the band themselves and the belief of "the show must go on".  A great headline band and one that definitely knows how to own a room!

Overall, it was an amazing night and we highly recommend checking out all of the bands and can't wait to see what comes next for all three of these bands.
