Hybrid Theory// Opium (Edinburgh) : 16 February 2018


Working closely with Exile Promotions in Edinburgh lately we got asked to come along to help out and review their charity show with Hybrid Theory a Linkin Park tribute band and Freak Show from Edinburgh to raise some money for the charity Sane a mental health charity within the United Kingdom. 

First to come to the stage was Freak Show, a five piece hard rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland. With a large crowd having came down to the show to show their support they thanked the crowd for coming down and making it their biggest show to date! As well as this they mentioned how their vocalist really wasn't well. However, this did not stop them from putting on a good show, however I do feel impacted the show as it seemed that the vocalist didn't have loads of energy on the stage however vocally sounded really good and showed that she was a powerful vocalist. As a new band however this came over very professionally and are a band that does have a lot of potential to grow within the Edinburgh scene. 

After Freak Show there was a raffle in which people were able to win prizes such as handmade jewelry, a free piercing, two hour tattoo session and many more! This helped to raise more money for Sane and had everyone getting more involved in giving more money to the charity while having some fun. 

Hybrid Theory a Linkin Park tribute band from Edinburgh, Scotland finished off the night by playing an hour long set which everyone was singing along to. As their first show there was a lot that was impressive such as having their own lighting making them really stand out as well as the lead vocalist not sounding the same as Linkin Park and making the music his own. While playing songs in which the whole crowd knew and played faster as well as slower songs in which the whole audience got behind. This band has a lot of potential and I can't wait to see them get better as they really do stand out among the crowd for tribute bands. I am also looking forward to see if they add to the songs that they cover and how they make them fit into their set. 

Overall, this show was a great night which raised an overall £620 for Sane! Making this a highly successful night for the bands as well as the charity. We would love to say thank you again to Exile Promotions for letting us be a part of this night and showing some of the talent in which is coming out of Edinburgh at the moment.

On the 2nd of March Holding Absence and Loathe were meant to be playing Audio in Glasgow. However due to the bad weather that had been going about the United Kingdom at the time the show had to get postponed to the 5th of March. However, this did not stop both bands from coming to Glasgow, Scotland and giving the audience an amazing show as well as the local support from Divide  and Rainfalls.  Rainfalls a four piece melodic-hardcore band hailing from Glasgow, Scotland was first to set foot on the stage. This band had a great sound to them which managed to get the crowd nicely ready for the artists who were ahead of them, as well as putting on a good show themselves. However, with the vocalist's back to the crowd throughout most of the set and with the stage rather dark throughout with only flashing lights it did make the stage hard to look at, at times. Escape the Fate// Garage (Glasgow): 20 January 2018

On the 20th of January Escape The Fate came back to Glasgow, Scotland on their headline tour with support from Set To Stun and Shields to play at the Garage thanks to Triple G Music. Here is what we thought of all of the bands who performed. First to grace the stage was Shields , a metal band from London, England. With being the first band on and not many people in the room at the moment they did not let this effect their live performance at all. Playing all originals that not many of the audience knew they had enough energy and a good flow between all of the songs that they were performing that people were still engaged with the performance. With also thanking everyone who came down early to catch their set and exciting the crowd about the other bands coming on after them they are a very humble band which is a very pleasing thing to see on the stage. Black Veil Brides // 02 Academy (Glasgow) : 25 January 2018

As Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria do an American and European co-headline tour, I managed to catch them in Glasgow, Scotland with support from To The Rats and Wolves on the 25th of January 2018. As a result of this I decided to review the show and say my thoughts on all three bands and the set that they produced. The first band on the bill was To The Rats and Wolves  which the audience did not know of. This made for an amazing opening act who managed to get the crowd jumping around and having an amazing time and joining in with the band singing along, clapping and dancing by having a very party atmosphere about them. With great clean and unclean vocals it was easy to make out what the band was singing about and made the audience know more about the band as a whole.
